Deconstructing the past.
Forging the Possible.
All knowledge begins with a question. Our questions explore the forgotten past and forge what’s possible. It’s an expedition into the source code of the human story. If you feel that pull, let’s find out together.
THE PROJECT
We treat the human story as a kind of source code. Our project is a two-fold mission: First, to deconstruct the code of our past—examining the history, myths, and ideas that define us. Second, to use that understanding to forge new code—exploring the “what ifs” and building the stories that will shape our future. This is the work.
The Latest From The Project
Echoes Before the Dawn: A Lost Pre-Clovis Civilization
What if the story of humanity in the Americas, the one we learned in school, isn’t the whole story?
Unearthing Gunung Padang: a 27,000-year-old pyramid?
What if it’s a monument, an artificial pyramid so ancient it could shatter our entire understanding of the human story?
What If Money Had an Expiration Date?
A forgotten town used expiring money to escape the Great Depression. Could this radical idea about wealth and human nature hold the secret to a better future?
Who is we?
“We are JD Lemky. Our work is a single, ongoing project: to examine the source code of the human story. We question established narratives and dig for the raw data—the historical evidence, the forgotten stories, and the foundational ‘what ifs’—that reveal the timeless principles of human nature. Whether we are analyzing ancient history or building new worlds in fiction, it is all part of the same mission: to provide better questions and explore the stories that define us.”
